Professional Career:

  • 1991 - 1998: legal officer at UNHCR, research staff at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, service as conscientious objector at Amnesty International Austria
  • Since 1998: free lance human rights consultant and trainer
  • Since  1996: several human rights courses at academic institutions, e.g. study abroad program of University of Oregon, Vienna University, Johns Hopkins University - Bologna Center, European Peace University/ Stadtschlaining, University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, Vienna Master of  Human Rights
  • Member of the Human Rights Advisory Board to the National Preventive Mechanism in Austria

  • Practical application of human rights in a variety of contexts
  • Preventive human rights monitoring of  places of  deprivation of liberty (National Preventive Mechanisms under the Optional Protocol to the UN Convention against Torture)
  • Human rights based police reform
