Professional Career:

  • 1991 - 1998: juristischer Mitarbeiter beim UNHCR, wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Ludwig Boltzmann Institut für Menschenrechte in Wien, Zivildienst bei Amnesty Österreich
  • 1991 - 1998: legal officer at UNHCR, research staff at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, service as conscientious objector at Amnesty International Austria
  • Since 1998: free lance human rights consultant and trainer
  • Since  1996: several human rights courses at academic institutions, e.g. study abroad program of University of Oregon, Vienna University, Johns Hopkins University - Bologna Center, European Peace University/ Stadtschlaining, University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt 

Thematic Focus:

  • Practical application of human rights in a variety of contexts
  • Human rights based detention monitoring (as member of a visiting commission of the Austrian National Preventive Mechanism)
  • Human rights consulting in business and development cooperation
  • Trainings in the following areas: detention monitoring, human rights and diversity, human rights and policing
  • Teaching and academic reflection on human rights and human rights practice
